Build a life that doesn't depend on one employer, one country, or one platform.

Mycelium Hub is a community, practical tools and real-world gatherings for people redesigning how they work, where they live and how they use technology. Tested in practice since 2021. You don't have to do it alone.

The plans we once relied on no longer offer the same security.

One employer. One country. One set of apps holding your work and your data. For a long time, that was what security looked like.

Now careers change fast, rules and borders shift, and the tools we rely on can change their terms overnight. Most people were never shown how to build something steadier.

Mycelium Hub is for people who have already started. Mid-career professionals, ex-corporates, founders, consultants, creatives and remote workers.

People reach this point in different ways. For some, AI is reshaping the work they built their lives around. For others, remote work has opened the possibility of living elsewhere. A career may no longer fit; a move, separation or other life change may have unsettled what once felt stable. Some have simply outgrown the path they were on and no longer have people around them who understand the questions they are asking.

Most want the same thing: more freedom to shape their lives, the resilience to navigate change, and people they can count on and build alongside.

Four practical areas. One life that holds together.

Work and income

Move beyond depending on one employer. Portfolio work, consulting, independent projects and founder paths, plus the practical parts many assume are only for the few: where to base your business, how to organise it, and how to get visible online.

Place and mobility

Build a life that can work across borders. Explore what's really possible, with clear information on visas, residency, relocation and how to compare places before making a move.

Technology you control

Get comfortable with the digital tools you need: the everyday ones for design, productivity, video, podcasts and AI, and the ones that keep your data yours, like local AI assistants. Explained plainly, whatever your starting point. We run our own work this way and share what we learn.

People to do it with

Autonomy without isolation. Peers working through the same questions and learning from each other, live sessions, accountability and real-world gatherings.

Underneath all four is the personal side: letting go of the script you inherited and deciding what you want instead. We make room for that too, with regular check-ins on your own direction.

Start with what fits where you are.

Gatherings

Where the community meets face to face. Past gatherings in Sweden, the UK and Mexico. Coming in 2027: pop-ups in Paraguay and Canada.

Why we're called Mycelium Hub

Connected, not centralised

Mycelium is the underground network that links a forest. It has no single centre. It moves resources to where they're needed, adapts when conditions change, and turns what has ended into something that feeds new growth.

That's how we work. No single location, no single platform, no single point of failure. We build for antifragility: when one part is disrupted, the network adapts, finds another route and becomes stronger. People share what they know and help each other move forward. Lives built to handle change without giving up what matters.

Started in Sweden. Tested in practice.

Mycelium Hub began in 2021 in the Swedish countryside. We created the kind of place we could not find elsewhere: a practical playground for testing new ways to work, live and build community.

Since then, we've hosted 400+ people in person, taken gatherings to the UK and Mexico, built an online community and started a podcast. Next, the network travels further: Paraguay and Canada in 2027.

“The first time I came to Mycelium Hub, I found a space to ‘focus on focusing’ in a calm, inspiring environment. … It’s a launchpad for building projects and learning how to work together. The support and connections bring clarity and purpose to my work long after I leave.”

Built by living it.

Marcela Campuzano Otero and Milan Holzapfel met in Stockholm and co-founded Mycelium Hub in 2021. They didn't design it from theory. They built it by living it.
